Does anyone really enjoy shaving?

Why do we put up with it? It's tedious. There is razor burn, nicks, cuts, and ALWAYS missed spots.

But why do we keep doing it? Shaving isn't the only way you can achieve hairless skin. There are now other ways to keep your skin smooth all year round and even reduce the amount of regrowth that comes back!

Body Waxing is one of these methods, and when performed correctly will give you lasting results.

WHAT IS BODY WAXING?

Body waxing is a semi-permanent form of hair removal that removes the hair from the root, and damages and weakens the follicle resulting in slower hair growth. Not only do you get instant baby smooth skin, but with each waxing treatment, your hair will grow back finer and thinner making it less noticeable in between treatments. With consistency and scheduled treatments, you will be left with the lasting results of smooth skin and in many areas, hair will not grow back.

PRIOR TO WAXING

Let it grow!! You'll need to refrain from shaving (and other forms of hair removal) for at least three weeks for any body area getting waxed and at least two weeks for facial and underarms. Ideally, you need to let your hair grow at least a quarter-inch. (This is the length of a grain of rice)

DAY OF WAXING PREPARATION

Cleanse the Area: Take a warm shower and make sure your targeted area is clean. (We will provide a cleansing wipe for intimate areas)

Avoid Lotions or Oils. These can prevent the wax from adhering to the hair.

At least a half-hour before your appointment, we recommend taking Tylenol or Advil to help with the pain. NOTE: Avoid aspirin, which can thin the blood. And always consult with your doctor if you have concerns.

*If you are feeling nervous or this is your first treatment - Remember to take Tylenol or Advil.

AFTERCARE

For the first 24 Hours: wear loose clothing and underwear if applicable; if tender, apply hydrocortisone and take Tylenol or Advil.

Be sure to avoid products with harsh chemicals and hot environments (i.e. baths, saunas), and abstain from sexual activity (i.e. Bikini or Brazilian Waxing).

After 24 hours: be sure to exfoliate to prevent ingrown hair. Exfoliating gloves are my go-to for keeping those pesky ingrown hairs from showing up! I recommend using exfoliating gloves three times a week; twice in the shower with liquid soap (preferably fragrance-free) and then once a week on clean dry skin as a dry exfoliation. Be gentle when exfoliation, it should never be painful!

*If you are still experiencing ingrown hairs, investing in an ingrown hair product will greatly benefit you and your waxing results!

Serious Serum is my go-to product to rid skin of those annoying bumps, containing facial grade AHA/BHAs and green tea, aloe vera, chamomile, coconut, and chia. This perfect combination helps to smooth bumpy, rough skin everywhere!

THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND

First Time Waxer: If it's your first time waxing, you may be more sensitive and feel a little more pain just because it's unfamiliar. But the more often you wax, the finer your hair will become and the less pain you'll experience during future waxing. Take Tylenol or Advil 30 min prior to your appointment! It's really not that bad, that is why so many people get waxed!

That Time of the Month: During that time of the month, waxing can be more painful because your skin is more sensitive during your period. No need to reschedule! I recommend taking Tylenol or Advil 30 min before your appointment.

Waxing Can Only be Done on Healthy Skin: If you're experiencing a cystic breakout (acne or STD-related), have a flare-up of psoriasis, or have sunburn, postpone your appointment until your skin clears up. Or if you have had any skin sensitizing treatments in the past 10 days.

Planning to Hit the Beach, Hot Tub, or Pool Right Afterwards? HELL NO, DONT! Saltwater, chlorinated water, and sand will irritate your newly waxed skin. This can cause breakouts, skin irritations, and even ingrown hairs.

You May Still Have Some Hair, Especially If You're a First-Time Waxer. Hair grows in different stages on our bodies and face. Because of these different stages, consistency is key to achieve longer-lasting results when waxing. For waxing body areas, we recommend getting waxed every 3-5 weeks. For waxing facial areas and underarms we recommend waxing every 2-4 weeks. For lasting results, it is necessary to get waxed in this recommended time frame because of the different hair stages on our body.

Our hair is always growing, it is in three stages and it takes the recommended time frame to get all the hair to be in the same growth cycle.it's possible there's still hair growing in that follicle. The result can be sporadic hair regrowth a couple of days later. But the more often you wax, the weaker and finer the hair will become, resulting in finer smoother hair, that eventually won't grow back

Are You Ready for smooth, hair-free glowing skin?!
